Dear Valued Clients:
We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your support during the 2010 year. In an effort to exceed your shipping and logistical expectations and continue to support these needs we will be submitting quarterly and periodic updates of which this is the first. Below find changes to the Insurance and Storage Policies effective January 1, 2011:
Insurance
Please note insurance of 2.5% will be charged on all cargo value and related freight charges.
All Bill of Ladings will be automatically charged insurance unless an insurance waiver is on file. An insurance waiver must be properly completed and returned to our office prior to cargo departure. All insurance waivers will remain in effect through December 31st, 2011 or unless otherwise noted, copy attached. Further note, NO CREDITS AND/OR INVOICE ADJUSTMENTS will be given or made on insurance charges after cargo departure.
Terminal Storage Fees
Below find a list of storage fees to be incurred upon cargo exceeding the allowed 14 day storage time, based on calendar days. Upon the 15th day at our facilities:
- Vehicles will incur $15 per day beginning on the day after it has been cleared by customs authority to depart Miami.
- Heavy equipment will incur $20 per day
- Cargo based on cubic feet will incur $.10 per day, per cubic feet
- Pallets will incur $7 per day
Further note ALL storage fees incurred MUST be paid, in addition to freight fees, prior to loading. After the 30th day of cargo abandoned at our facilities, a notice of lien of property and auctioning will be assessed on property.
Containers and flat racks left at port will incur a rental fee of $10 per day for the 20' and $15 per day for the 40', 7 day minimum, if not returned the following week from the date of arrival at port.
